Biographical Sketch

Minister Eli Wilson, Jr. is a licensed, certified Life Transformational Coach and a ordained Minister of Church Music. He is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana and the son of a Baptist preacher and pastor. Having been a full-time church music leader for 30 years, he understands the dynamics of the church and the challenges of the music ministry.

Minister Wilson is the author of “Equipping the Church Choir for Ministry” -- A Resource for Church Music Leaders and Choir Members.

  • He worked collaboratively with Academy Award Nominated Actor, Robert Duvall on the movie “The Apostle”.
    • He is the music director for the Children’s Defense Fund’s Samuel DeWitt Proctor Institute at Haley Farm.
      • He has served as evening song leader at the Hampton Ministers’ Conference.
        • He is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

Minister Wilson did his undergraduate study (Vocal Music Education) at Dillard University in New Orleans and his post-graduate study at Colgate-Rochester Divinity School and the Eastman School of Music (Christian Education and Sacred Music). He holds an Honorary Doctorate from Virginia Seminary and College.

He is committed to the work of Jesus Christ and has dedicated himself to the development of church music leaders. The goal is to help them to accurately understand the connection between music and ministry and to tap into their full potential.
